What the number means

This is the spot price of gold (XAU/USD) — the global benchmark. Your broker's price sits a few units either side because of the spread. Use it to size a trade or check margin.

FAQ

Common questions

Where does the live XAU/USD price on this page come from?

It is a streaming reference feed for spot gold, shown so you can see the market without logging in. It is not your broker's executable quote and it is not a dealing price. Your fills happen at the bid or ask your broker streams on MT4, MT5, cTrader or the FxPro app, which is the number that matters for your account.

Why is the live price here different from the quote in my platform?

Because a broker quote is two-sided: it carries the spread between bid and ask, and it reflects that broker's own liquidity and its server time. A reference feed shows a single mid-type figure. The gap you see is normal and is part of your cost, so compare like with like and check the ask before buying and the bid before selling.

The price is near 4275.0, so why did my order fill somewhere else?

The figure near 4275.0 is a reference, not a guarantee of your fill. Between the moment you click and the moment the order reaches the broker's server, price can move, and your fill lands at the next available quote plus the spread. In fast news conditions that slippage is larger, which is why market orders on gold deserve care.

Does a weaker rupee change my gold profit even if XAU/USD is flat?

Yes, if your account is in dollars and you think in rupees. XAU/USD can close unchanged while the ₨/USD rate moves, so the rupee value of the same dollar profit or loss changes. The live price tells you what gold did; your bank transfer and conversion tell you what it is worth to you locally.

How often should I refresh the live price before placing a trade?

Treat the live page as an overview and refresh your platform quote at the moment of the trade, because gold can move several dollars in minutes around US data. The live price helps you plan levels; the platform quote is what your order meets. For sizing, feed the current price into the position size and margin calculators.
